Hungarian government tries to placate Jews

A state secretary from the Justice Ministry has met Jewish groups who had expressed disappointment over the failure of the prosecution service to act on complaints of incitement to racial hatred. The Unified Hungarian Jewish Congregation (EMIH) and the Action and Defence Foundation had filed a criminal complaint against a member of extreme-right party Jobbik, who called in Parliament late last year for a list to be compiled of Jews who represented a potential “national security risk”.
