Polish economy minister declares support for troubled motor industry
The Polish government will present solutions to support car production in Poland in order to defend jobs in the sector, Economy Minister Janusz Piechocinski told reporters on Tuesday, commenting on mass layoffs announced by Fiat Auto Poland.
Fiat Auto Poland, unit of Italian carmaker Fiat, said on Friday that it would dismiss one third of its workforce in its Tychy-based production plant in southern Poland due to a slump in sales.
