Concert promoter Sofia Music Enterprises said that tickets for Roger Waters’ visual masterpiece, The Wall Live, went on sale on November 16. The Sofia gig is scheduled for August 30 2013 at the Vassil Levski national stadium.
The tickets, ranging from 65 leva to 180 leva, are sold online at ticketpro.bg and in partner stores – which include outlets of Office 1 Superstore, Orange, Multirama and Billa retail chains. A colour-coded diagram with the ticket prices for each section of the stadium can be seen at ticketpro.bg.
The Wall Live, hailed as one of the most successful rock tours in history, returns to Europe for 20 shows to be played between July and September, with many new venues in Eastern Europe added to the list.
“I’m extremely glad to be playing The Wall in Europe again. It’s going to be a lot of fun for all of us. I’ve reworked the show to play outdoors in large stadiums. It’s really good,” Waters said in a statement earlier this month, announcing the tour.
“I’ve had to rethink the whole thing about stadiums. This wide wall stadium show couldn’t have been done 40 years ago. We couldn’t have filled the space in a way that would have been emotionally, musically and theatrically satisfying. Technology has changed. Now we can,” he said.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Waters and members of his touring staff speak more about the show (alas, Sofia does not get a mention among the other tour stops).
