Bourgas Airport employee arrested after silver jewellery stolen from tourist’s luggage

A 25-year-old baggage handler at Bulgaria’s Bourgas Airport has been taken into custody by police after the handler allegedly stole silver jewellery of an estimated value of 300 euro from the luggage of a German woman.

An Interior Ministry statement said that the woman had arrived at Bourgas Airport on a flight from Stuttgart and discovered that the jewellery was missing.

The ministry said that Border Police acted quickly and established who was behind the theft, with the airport employee pointing out where he had hidden the jewellery, in a men’s toilet at the airport. The man was taken into 24-hour arrest pending formal charges, the statement said.
