Kosovo’s first ambassador to Bulgaria hosts farewell
Ariana Zherka-Hoxha, who in April 2010 became Kosovo’s first ambassador in Sofia, hosted a farewell reception on May 23 2012, having reached the end of her term of office.
A lawyer, the ambassador previously had worked for a number of years for international organisations in Kosovo.
After Kosovo’s declaration of independence in February 2008, Bulgaria was among the first countries to recognise it, doing so in March that year.
In the International Court of Justice hearing on the question of the legality of the declaration of Kosovo’s independence – which the court found to have been not out of line with international law – Bulgaria was among countries that presented argument in favour of Priština’s case.
