Incumbent president Iliana Yotova and former deputy caretaker prime minister Andrei Gyurov are set to advance to the second round of Bulgaria’s 2026 presidential elections, according to partial results by the Central Election Commission on October 26.

With ballots from 95.3 per cent of precincts counted, Yotova, nominated by an initiative committee and endorsed by the ruling Progressive Bulgaria party, received 34.6 per cent of the votes.

Gyurov, similarly nominated by an initiative committee and endorsed by pro-Western opposition We Continue the Change and Democratic Bulgaria parliamentary groups, was second with 32.04 per cent.

Pro-Russian Vuzrazhdane party leader Kostadin Kostadinov ran a distant third with 12.62 per cent of the vote. Among the remaining 24 candidates, 21 failed to get even one per cent of the votes and none reached five per cent, CEC partial results showed.
