Eurostat: Unemployment in Bulgaria in August 2026 was 3.5%

The unemployment rate in Bulgaria in August 2026 was 3.5 per cent, unchanged from July 2026 and down from 3.7 per cent in August 2025, European Union statistics agency Eurostat said on October 1, citing seasonally adjusted data.

In August 2026, the euro area seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 6.4 per cent, stable compared with July 2026 and up from 6.3 per cent in August 2025.

The EU unemployment rate was 6.1 per cent in August 2026, also stable compared with July 2026 and up from 6.0 per cent in August 2025. 

In August 2026, the youth unemployment rate was 15.4 per cent in the EU, up from 15.3 per cent in the previous month, and 15 per cent in the euro area, down from 15.1 per cent in July 2026.

In Bulgaria, youth unemployment in August 2026 was 13.5 per cent, down from 13.9 per cent in July 2026 and down from 14.5 per cent in August 2025.
