NSI poll: Business sentiment in Bulgaria declines
A regular monthly poll by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) has found a decline in business sentiment in Bulgaria in June.
In June 2026, the total business climate indicator decreased by 1.3 percentage points in comparison with May, with the indicators in Bulgaria’s industry and construction sectors down, while there were improvements in the retail trade and service sector.
The industry indicator dropped by 2.3 percentge points, with managers more moderate in their views of the business situation compared with May.
At the same time, their forecasts about the production activity over the next three months are unfavourable.
In June, the construction indicator dropped by 4.9 percentage points, with managers reserved in their views of the business situation and holding negative views about construction business over the next three months.
In the retail trade, the indicator was up by 1.4 percentage points, with retails holding improved views of the business situation and holding favourable views about the volume of sales over the past three months and the coming three months.
In the service sector, the indicator was up by 1.6 percentage points, with managers more optimistic about the current business situation, while their opinions about the current and expected demand for services had continued to improve, the NSI said.
