Bulgaria’s Navy removes drone, drone parts from Black Sea in two incidents

In successive incidents on April 2 and 3, Bulgarian Navy specialist teams removed drone parts and a drone from the Black Sea, according to a Defence Ministry statement.

On April 3, a specialist team from the Bourgas Naval Base identified and removed a wing of a drone from the sea off the beach at Kraimorie near Bourgas.

The object did not contain explosives and did not pose a danger, the Defence Ministry said. The part was transport to the Bourgas Naval Base.

The ministry said that on April 2, a Bourgas Naval Base team identified and removed a drone which was washed up from the sea at Cape Limnos near Tsarevo.

The drone did not contain explosives and did not pose a danger, and was transported to the naval base, the ministry said.

On April 2, a team from the navy base in Varna responded to a report from a ship’s officer about a “mine-like” object floating in the sea. In turned out to be buoy from the mussel farm, and was confiscated, the statement said.
