Bulgaria’s central bank: Loans to households in February 2026 up 20.7% y/y
Loans to households and NPISHs added up 29.341 billion euro at the end of February 2026, an increase of 20.7 per cent compared with February 2025, central Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a regular report on March 26.
This followed annual growth of 20.7 per cent in January 2026, BNB said.
At the end of February 2026 loans for house purchases added up to 17.299 billion euro, an increase of 27.8 per cent annually, following 27.9 per cent annual growth in January 2026, the report said.
Consumer loans amounted to 11.087 billion euro. Compared with February 2025, this was an increase of 12.8 per cent, following 12.8 per cent annual growth in January.
Deposits of households and NPISHs added up to 55.782 billion euro at the end of February 2026, an increase of 20.3 per cent compared with February 2025, after an increase of 21 per cent on an annual basis in January 2026, BNB said.
