Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry warns of forthcoming strike in Italy
Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry issued on November 25 a warning of a large-scale national strike to be held in Italy on November 28 which will affect key public services.
The ministry said that Italy’s railway sector will not operate from 9pm on November 27 to 9pm on November 28, with the exception of trains in the intervals between 6am and 9am and 6pm to 9pm.
Trams are scheduled to operate only from 6.30am to 9.30am and from 5pm to 8pm, and bus transport is likely not operate throughout the strike, the ministry said.
In healthcare, only emergency and non-urgent services will be provided, and scheduled examinations and tests are expected to be postponed..
Fire safety sector employees will cease work for four hours, but will continue to respond to all emergency calls.
“We recommend that Bulgarian citizens staying or planning to travel to Italy on the day of the strike plan alternative ways and more time for travel and inform themselves in advance about the current transport situation in the country,” the Foreign Ministry said.
