Bulgarian Navy responds to several more drone incidents
Bulgarian naval personnel completed six new tasks to reconnoiter and destroy unmanned aerial vehicles and objects discovered in Bulgarian territorial waters and on the seashore on September 2, the Defence Ministry said on September 3.
Specialist teams from the Naval Base Bourgas were activated following three reports of drones spotted in the waters of the Black Sea – in the areas of Maslen Nos, on Cape Kolokita and about nine nautical miles opposite the Bourgas bridge, opposite the Pomorie Reef.
After reconnaissance and identification of the objects as unmanned aerial vehicles, the objects were destroyed on site in the sea, in strict compliance with safety measures.
A team from the base also responded to the discovery of parts of an unidentified military drone on the beach in the town of Pomorie.
Military personnel from the Naval Base Varna completed two reconnaissance and identification tasks. A reconnaissance drone found on the seashore in the area of Cape Kaliakra and an unidentified cone-shaped object on the beach of the village of Topola, Dobrich municipality were transported to the base area.
