Bulgaria’s exports in January – May 2026 up 7.4%, imports up 12.8% y/y

In January – May 2026, the total value of all the goods exported from Bulgaria amounted to 18 803.6 million euro, 7.4 per cent more than in January – May 2025, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on July 10, citing preliminary data.

In May 2026, the total exports of goods added up to 3718.0 million euro, an increase of 7.8 per cent compared with May 2025, the NSI said.

The total value of all the goods imported into Bulgaria in January – May 2026 was 24 205.7 million euro (at CIF prices), 12.8 per cent more than in January – May 2025.

In May 2026, the total imports of goods increased by 17.4 per cent compared with May 2025, adding up to 4675.9 million euro.

Bulgaria’s total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – imports CIF) was negative in January – May 2026, amounting to 5402.1 million euro.

In May 2026, Bulgaria’s total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – import CIF) was also negative, adding up to 957.9 million euro, the NSI said.
