NSI: Circulatory system diseases main cause of death in Bulgaria in 2025
Circulatory system diseases were again the main cause of death in Bulgaria in 2025, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on June 26.
A total of 99 479 people died in Bulgaria in 2025, 51 142 males and 48 337 females, the NSI said.
A total of 60 589 died of diseases of the circulatory system, accounting for 60.9 per cent of deaths.
The next-largest figure was neoplasms, 17 157.
According to the NSI, Covid-19 was the cause of 78 deaths in Bulgaria in 2025.
