Turkish military personnel to transit Bulgaria en route to exercise in Serbia

Forty-five military personnel and six units of equipment from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Türkiye will travel through Bulgaria on May 8 and 9, Bulgaria’s Defence Ministry said on May 7.

The movement is related to participation in a joint Nato-Republic of Serbia exercise Nato-Serbia 2026, to be held at the Borovac military training centrr, Serbia.

After the end of the exercise, on their return to Türkiye, the military personnel will pass back through Bulgaria on May 23 and 24.

During its movement, the military formation will be accompanied by teams of the Military Police.
