Part of the 2026 Giro d’Italia bicycle race is being held in Bulgaria, from May 8 to 10 inclusive, and an official website offers useful information in English for motorists to check about road and street closures.
In Bulgaria, there will be three stages of the race – on May 8, 156km from Nessebur to Bourgas; on May 9, 220km from Bourgas to Veliko Turnovo; and on May 10, 174km from Plovdiv to Sofia.
An interactive map on the website offers information about street closures and the best spots to watch the race. The official website has versions in English, Bulgarian, and Italian.
The official websites of the municipalities of Bourgas, Veliko Turnovo, Plovdiv and Sofia have detailed information, in Bulgarian, about street closures.
