Bulgaria’s Vassil Levski Sofia Airport announces summer 2026 schedule

Thirty leading airlines will connect Sofia with 94 destinations in summer 2026, according to a media statement by Vassil Levski Sofia Airport on March 27.

With the start of the summer season, Bulgaria Air is adding a new route to Portugal’s second-largest city, Porto. Flights begin on April 9 and will operate every Thursday and Sunday at convenient times, the airport said.

Ryanair is expanding its network with a new destination – Lamezia Terme, with flights beginning on March 29 and operating on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Starting March 30, the airline is launching a route to the exotic city of Marrakech, with flights operating twice a week (Monday and Friday).

Starting March 31, the carrier will also begin flying to Turin three times a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

Wizz Air has a strong presence in the schedule and continues to expand its network from Sofia. Starting March 29, flights will begin to Rimini, a new destination for the airport. Flights to the Italian city will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

In the summer schedule, the carrier is replacing Warsaw Modlin with flights to Warsaw Chopin Airport, with flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Starting March 31, the airline will launch two new routes: to Palma de Mallorca on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, as well as to Santander – a new destination for Sofia – on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Wizz Air is also adding flights to Lamezia Terme, which will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays. 

Starting June 7, the carrier will fly to the Greek island of Corfu every Tuesday and Sunday, and starting July 3, to Rhodes on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Flights to Budapest will also begin in early July on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Another new destination for the summer schedule is the Sicilian capital, Palermo, with flights beginning on July 4 and operating every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

From the beginning of July to September 5, Wizz Air will also fly three times a week to the Albanian capital, Tirana.

Flights to Sharm el-Sheikh begin on July 5 and will operate twice a week during the summer of 2026 (Thursdays and Sundays). At the end of the summer schedule, the carrier is also adding Hurghada to its offerings from Sofia. Flights begin on October 27 and will operate throughout the winter season on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

SunExpress will also expand its destination offerings by adding flights to Izmir. These flights begin on April 3 and will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with Saturday flights added starting in May.
