Bulgaria issue weather warnings over strong wind forecast for December 28
Bulgaria’s national meteorological bureau has issued the Code Orange warning of dangerous weather for several districts for December 28 because of forecast strong wind.
The districts subject to the Code Orange warning are Sofia district (as distinct from Sofia city), Plovdiv, Blagoevgrad, Sliven, Veliko Turnovo, Gabrovo, Pazardzhik, Lovech, Pleven, Montana and Vidin.
All other districts are subject to the lesser Code Yellow warning of potentially dangerous weather, also because of forecast strong wind.
The meteorological bureau said that on December 28, minimum temperatures will be mainly between minus 3° and 2° Celsius, in Sofia about minus 2°. Maximum temperatures will be between 2° and 7°, in Sofia about 3°.
Mainly in the Stara Planina there will be snowfalls and there will be snow blizzards on the Balkan passes.
By 2pm the temperature at an altitude of 1200 metres will be around minus 5°, at 2000 metres about minus 7°.
There will be variable cloudiness over the Black Sea coast. Moderate and strong winds will blow from the west-northwest. Maximum temperatures will be between 4° and 7°, the bureau said.
