Bulgaria issues weather warnings over heavy rainfall forecast for November 11

Bulgaria’s national meteorological bureau has issued the Code Orange warning of dangerous weather for several districts for November 11 because of forecast heavy rain.

The districts subject to the Code Orange warning are Stara Zagora, Gabrovo, Veliko Turnovo, Rousse and Silistra.

A number of other districts are subject to the lesser Code Yellow warning of potentially dangerous weather, also because of heavy rain: Sofia city, Sofia district, Plovdiv, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Lovech, Haskovo, Sliven, Turgovishte, Razgrad and Dobrich.

The remaining districts are classified Code Green, meaning that no weather warning is in place.

On November 11, minimum temperatures will be between 8° and 13° C, in Sofia, about 9°. Maximum temperatures in most places will be between 10° and 15°, in Sofia, about 11°.

Cloudy weather will prevail over the mountains. In many places there will be rain, in places above 1800 metres above sea level, snow too.

The precipitation will be longer and more significant in the central and eastern parts of the Stara Planina. There will be a strong, and in the highest mountain parts a stormy wind from the north-northwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 metres will be about 10°, at 2000 metres – about 4°.

It will be cloudy over the Black Sea coast. It will rain in many places. A moderate and temporarily strong wind will blow from the west-northwest. The maximum temperatures will be between 15° and 17°.
