Revenue of places of accommodation in Bulgaria in January 2025 up 24% y/y

Revenue from nights spent at places of accommodation in Bulgaria in January 2025 was 24 per cent higher than in January 2024, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on March 11.

Revenue added up to 112.9 million leva, with 60.1 million from residents of Bulgaria and 52.8 million from non-residents, the NSI said.

The number of arrivals increased by 12.7 per cent compared with January 2024, with an increase of 19.5 per cent for non-residents and 9.4 per cent for residents of Bulgaria.

The total occupancy of the bed-places was 28.2 per cent, an increase of two percentage points compared with January 2024.

The highest occupancy of the bed-places was in 4 and 5-star accommodation establishments – 40.9 per cent, followed by those with 3 stars – 24 per cent, and with 1 and 2 stars – 14.5 per cent, the NSI said.
