Flu epidemic declarations end in all Bulgarian districts
Flu epidemic declarations have ended or are ending in all of Bulgaria’s districts with the lifting of anti-epidemic measures in the last two, Veliko Turnovo and Sliven, Bulgaria’s Health Ministry said on February 11.
“Thus, starting tomorrow, there will be no restrictions related to the spread of influenza on the territory of the country,” the ministry said.
Currently, the data on the incidence in all areas is below the epidemic values, but remains above the average level for the season, it said.
During the past week, February 3-9, a total of 5614 cases of acute infectious diseases were registered, compared with 7168 cases the previous week.
Of these, 4,643 were cases of influenza and acute respiratory diseases compared with 6154 cases for the previous week.
The total incidence of influenza and acute respiratory diseases for the country is 133.90 per 10 000 people, compared with 177.48 per 10 000 people for the previous week, the Health Ministry said.
