Bulgaria’s Sofia Airport opens new parking areas
SOF Connect, the operator of Sofia Airport and Glavbolgarstroy Holding opened on November 26 the new car parking areas at Sofia Airport, the airport said in a media statement.
There are more than 1000 parking spaces, on area of 25 000 square metres.
It has spaces for cars of people with reduced mobility and charging stations for electric vehicles. The project is worth more than seven million leva, the airport said.
“The open-air car parks are a key project for us and is part of Sofia Airport’s modernization and development plan. With this project we are taking an important step towards creating a convenient, and efficient infrastructure to meet the different needs of travellers,” Jesús Caballero, CEO of SOF Connect, said.
The airport’s media statement said that “with a modern look and individual wayfinding”, each new car park will be easily recognizable to facilitate traffic on the airport.
The P3 or standard car park has been operational for a month and is suitable for both short and long-term stays.
The P4 or economy car park was also opened on November 26 and will be a budget solution for longer stays.
P5 is the short-term stopover car park for meeting and dropping off passengers and P8 is dedicated for buses coming to meet large groups.

The multi-level covered car park is now closed for renovation. The renovation will be carried out again by Glavbolgarstroy Holding and the project is worth 25 million leva.
