Bulgaria’s exports in January-August 2024 down 2.8%, imports down 0.1% y/y

In January – August 2024, the total value of all the goods exported from Bulgaria amounted to 56 511.2 million leva, which is 2.8 per cent less than in January – August 2023, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on October 10, citing preliminary data.

In August 2024, the total exports of goods added up to 6 826.6 million leva, a decrease of 1.9 per cent compared with August 2023, the NSI said.

The total value of all the goods imported into Bulgaria in January – August 2024 was 64 027.7 million leva (at CIF prices), 0.1 per cent less than in January – August 2023.

In August 2024, the total imports of goods decreased by three per cent compared with August 2023, adding up to 7 619.0 million leva

Bulgaria’s total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – imports CIF) was negative in January – August 2024, amounting to 7 516.5 million leva.

In August 2024, the total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – import CIF) was also negative, adding up to 792.4 million leva.
