Bulgaria’s Unification Day long weekend weather outlook

The first two days of Bulgaria’ Unification Day long weekend, from September 6 to 8, will be mostly sunny in the mornings with clouds gathering in the afternoons and evenings, according to the national weather bureau.

There will be short bursts of rain in western Bulgaria on September 6, and throughout the country on September 7.

September 8 will see sunnier weather, with rain in fewer places, the weather bureau said.

Across Bulgaria, the average maximum temperature on September 6 will be 29 degrees Celsius, dropping to 27 degrees on September 7 and 8.

For Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia, the forecast high for September 6 is 28 degrees C, with thunderstorms, followed by 26 degrees C on September 7 and 27 degrees on September 8.

Plovdiv will be the centre of Unification Day celebrations on September 6, with a forecast high of 33 degrees C and possible thunderstorms. On Saturday, the city is set for a high of 31 degrees C, and 32 degrees C on Sunday.

At the coast, the forecast high for Varna is 27 degrees C on September 6, with partly cloudy weather, followed by 25 degrees on September 7 and 8, with thunderstorms possible.

On September 6, Bourgas is set for 29 degrees and partly cloudy weather, 27 degrees and possible thunderstorms on September 7 and 28 degrees and possible thunderstorms on September 8.
