Bulgaria’s exports in H1 2024 down 5.6%, imports down 1.1% y/y
The total value of all goods exported from Bulgaria in January to June 2024 was 41 388.8 million leva, which is 5.6 per cent less than in the first half of 2023, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on August 12, citing preliminary data.
In June 2024, the total exports of goods from Bulgaria added up to 7 243.1 million leva, a decrease of 0.9 per cent compared with June 2023.
The total value of all the goods imported into Bulgaria in January – June 2024 was 47 619.4 million leva (at CIF prices), 1.1 per cent less than in January – June 2023.
In June 2024, the total imports of goods was 0.2 per cent higher than in June 2023, adding up to 7 883.5 million leva.
Bulgaria’s total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – imports CIF) was negative in January – June 2024, adding to 6 230.6 million leva.
In June 2024, Bulgaria’s total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – import CIF) was also negative, adding up to 640.4 million leva, the NSI said.
