Eurostat: Unemployment in Bulgaria in January 2024 was 4.4%

Unemployment in Bulgaria in January 2024 was 4.4 per cent, up from 4.3 per cent in December 2023 and up from four per cent in January 2023, European Union statistics agency Eurostat said on March 1, citing seasonally-adjusted figures.

Across the EU, unemployment in January was six per cent, unchanged from December and down from 6.1 per cent in January 2023, Eurostat said.

In the euro zone, unemployment in January was 6.4 per cent, down from 6.5 per cent in December and down from 6.6 per cent in January 2023.

Youth unemployment in Bulgaria in January was 15.8 per cent, up from 14.4 per cent in December and from 9.1 per cent in January last year.

EU youth unemployment was 14.9 per cent in January this year, unchanged from December and up from 14.1 per cent in January 2023.

Youth unemployment in the euro zone was 14.5 per cent in January, unchanged from December and up from 14.2 per cent in January 2023, Eurostat said.
