Covid-19: In past month, 43 deaths in Bulgaria
The deaths of 43 people in Bulgaria who had tested positive for Covid-19 were registered in the past month, bringing the country’s death toll linked to the disease to 38 260, according to figures posted on the unified information portal on April 1.
The figure recorded in February was the second-lowest recent monthly death toll of people who had tested positive for Covid-19 since the earliest stages of the pandemic in Bulgaria.
In March 2020, when the first Covid-19 case was detected in the country, there were eight deaths, followed by 58 in April 2020 and 72 in May 2020.
In January 2023, Bulgaria’s Covid-19 death toll was 71, according to figures posted on February 1. In February 2023, the country’s Covid-19 death toll was 38.
A total of 3256 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Bulgaria in March, bringing the total to date to 1 300 109.
There are 2362 active cases, 612 fewer than the figure in the March 1 report.
As of April 1, Bulgaria’s national Covid-19 morbidity rate is 26.2 out of 100 000 population on a 14-day basis, up from the 12.34 figure reported on March 1.
There are 326 Covid-19 patients in hospital in Bulgaria, 108 more than the figure in the March 1 report, with 35 in intensive care, eight more than the figure in the March 1 report.
A total of 4 610 701 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have been administered in Bulgaria, including 2079 in the past month.
A total of 2 076 624 people have completed the vaccination cycle, including 631 in the past month.
A total of 944 687 people have received a booster dose of vaccine, including 1284 in the past month.
The unified information portal data showed that 1284 booster doses administered in March were vaccines adapted against the Omicron variant. As of the April 1 report, a total of 72 117 adapted booster doses had been administered.
