Covid-19 in Bulgaria: In past day, 67 deaths, 1724 new cases

Sixty-seven people in Bulgaria who had tested positive for Covid-19 died in the past day, bringing the country’s death toll linked to the disease to 19 876, according to the September 17 report by the unified information portal.

Of 21 167 tests done in the past day, 1724 – about 8.14 per cent – proved positive.

To date, 478 885 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria, of which 39 599 are active. Going by the figures in the daily report, the number of active cases decreased by 307 in the past day.

The report said that 1964 people in Bulgaria were registered in the past day as having recovered, bringing the total to 419 410.

There are 4627 patients in hospital in Bulgaria with Covid-19, an increase of 45 in the past day. There are 396 in intensive care, a figure unchanged in the past 24 hours, according to the report.

Thirty medical personnel tested positive in the past day, bringing the total to date to 14 185.

The report said that 11 198 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 were administered in Bulgaria in the past day, bringing the total to 2 448 482.

According to the report, 1 265 174 people in Bulgaria have completed the vaccination cycle, an increase of 7960 in the past day.
