Covid-19 in Bulgaria: In past day, 65 deaths, 1862 new cases

Sixty-five people in Bulgaria who had tested positive for Covid-19 died in the past day, bringing the country’s death toll linked to the disease to 19 809, according to the September 16 report by the unified information portal.

Of 24 745 tests done in the past day, 1862 – about 7.52 per cent – proved positive.

To date, 477 161 cases of new coronavirus have been confirmed in Bulgaria, of which 39 906 are active. The number of active cases increased by 360 in the past day.

The report said that in the past day, 1437 people were registered as having recovered, bringing the total to 417 446.

There are 4582 patients with Covid-19 in hospital, a decrease of two in the past day, with 396 in intensive care, an increase of 10.

Twenty-six medical personnel tested positive in the past day, bringing the total to date to 14 155.

The report said that 10 285 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 were administered in the past day, bringing the total to 2 437 295.

A total of 1 257 214 people in Bulgaria have completed the vaccination cycle, including 7312 in the past day.
