More than 6500 non-EU nationals employed at Bulgaria’s summer resorts in 2018 – report
More than 6500 citizens of non-EU countries have been employed since May 2018 to work at Bulgaria’s Black Sea resorts for the summer season, according to the country’s Employment Agency.
Most of them, 5500, are from Ukraine, according to the agency.
The hiring of foreigners by Bulgaria’s hospitality industry is a response to a serious shortfall of Bulgarians willing to work at the country’s holiday resorts. Those qualified to do so prefer to seek higher salaries at resorts outside the country.
