Bulgaria Now podcast: Love leads to Bulgarian wine tours
Danish-born Zina Sorensen and her Bulgarian partner set up bulgarianwinetours.com in 2015, offering tours of Bulgaria’s wine regions to introduce foreigners to the delights of the country’s cuisine and viniculture.
Plovdiv-based for the past two and half years, Zina tells Bulgaria Now’s Lance Nelson great tips about visiting Bulgaria’s vineyards and how to seek out the most interesting wines that Bulgaria has to offer.
Bulgaria boasts not only about 300 registered wineries, but also grape varieties unique to the country and some of its regions.
A graduate in hospitality management and environmental management and policy, Zina is a firm believer in the benefits that sustainable tourism can bring, especially to rural areas.
Love brought her to Bulgaria, and now that love is deepening as she works to fulfil the country’s potential for wine and food tourism.
