Paris-Sofia flight on June 11 cancelled over Air France pilot strike

The Air France flight from Paris to Sofia, as well as the corresponding return flight, on June 11 have been cancelled due to the strike by the airline’s pilots, Sofia Airport said on June 10.

Air France said earlier that it expected the strike by several airline pilot unions to affect 10 per cent of its long-haul flights and a quarter of the medium-haul flights that use the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. The strike will go on for four days, with the airline saying it would update the list of cancelled flights daily, advising ticket-holders to check the updated flight schedule the day before and on the day of their scheduled flight.

The strike comes after talks in recent days over a labour dispute, prompted by the airline’s attempt to impose additional work hours without corresponding salary increases, have yielded no results. It also coincides with the start of the Euro 2016 European football championships in France.
