Poland summons German ambassador over politicians’ ‘anti-Polish’ remarks

Poland’s foreign ministry has summoned the German ambassador over what it calls “anti-Polish” comments made recently by German politicians who have sharply criticised the new Polish government’s policies.

Germany’s ambassador to Warsaw Rolf Nikel is set to meet with Poland’s Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski on Monday January 11.

The German president of the European Parliament Martin Schulz on Sunday compared politics of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) to those of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
