Polish court rejects Polanski US extradition request

A Polish court Friday ruled against a US request to extradite Oscar-winning film-maker Roman Polanski (82) over a 1977 conviction for having sex with minor, saying his extradition was “inadmissible”.

In 1977 Polanski pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old during a photo shoot in Los Angeles. A year later he fled from the US ahead of sentencing in 1978.
