Poland to summon Moscow’s envoy over his World War 2 remarks
Poland’s Foreign Minister Grzegorz Schetyna has said that the Russian ambassador will be summoned to the foreign ministry on Monday over his remarks suggesting that Poles are partly to blame for the outbreak of the Second World War.
Speaking to private Polish broadcaster TVN24 on Friday, Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreyev said that “Polish policy led to the disaster in September 1939, because during the 1930s Poland repeatedly blocked the formation of a coalition against Nazi Germany. Poland was therefore partly responsible for the disaster which then took place.”
