Bulgaria welcomes Iran nuclear programme deal
Bulgaria welcomes the “historic agreement” reached on July 14 in Vienna on a comprehensive Joint Action Plan on Iran’s nuclear programme, agreed among the foreign ministers of the countries of the E3 + 3 (Germany, France, China, Russian Federation, the US) and Iran, the Foreign Ministry in Sofia said.
The agreement will limit Iran’s country’s nuclear programme in exchange for eased economic sanctions
“We appreciate the determination and unprecedented efforts of all participants in the negotiation process, including the team of the European External Action Service, which made it possible to find a diplomatic solution,” Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry said, expressing hope that the deal would be widely supported by the international community and that the envisaged measures would be implemented in full.
“We believe that the settlement of this complex long-standing problem is a significant step towards strengthening confidence and stability in the Middle East,” a region neighbouring Bulgaria, the ministry said.
Opportunities had been created for co-operation and constructive dialogue with Iran on a range of issues, including those of regional and global importance, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry said.
