Bulgaria to offer free text notifications to company owners
Bulgaria’s Registry Agency will make its notification service for company and property owners free of charge starting January 1 2015, the agency said.
The service currently offered by the agency allows company and property owners to receive up to 500 text messages, notifying them of any change regarding their property, for a period of two years, in exchange for a fixed fee of five leva. This service is not restricted to owners alone, so other interested parties can receive notifications as well.
Starting next year, company and property owners can subscribe to the free service by filling in a form in person at the Registry Agency, after confirming their identity with a valid ID. The cost of the service for other interested parties will remain unchanged at 0.01 leva for each text message they receive.
The agency decided to implement the change after its representatives recently met with Prime Minister Boiko Borissov. “Fraud attempts prompted the meeting with Prime Minister Boiko Borissov, to discuss the necessary measures to protect traders and individuals,” the agency said in a statement, as quoted by specialist judiciary news website Legalworld.bg.
Corporate raiding has become less of a concern in Bulgaria over the past decade, but returned to public spotlight earlier this month following allegations of wrongdoing in a bankruptcy case involving French company Belvedere Distribution.
