Pilot strike cancels eight Lufthansa flights to and from Sofia
A total of eight direct flights to and from Sofia have been cancelled as a result of the strike by the German pilots union, Lufthansa Group said.
The industrial action by Vereinigung Cockpit, planned for October 20-21, has prompted Lufthansa to cancel the flights, the airline said. The strike affected all Lufthansa flights operated by the aircraft types A320, Boeing 737 and Embraer, as well as intercontinental flights on October 21.
The airline cancelled one flights from Frankfurt on October 20, as well as the corresponding return flight. On October 21, three flights – two from Frankfurt and one from Munich – and the corresponding return flights have been cancelled.
Flights of the Lufthansa Group airlines Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Germanwings, Swiss and Air Dolomiti were excepted from the strike and schedule adjustments.
