Bulgarian President closely monitoring situation after fatal floods hit Varna

Bulgarian President Rossen Plevneliev is in constant contact with interior minister Tsvetlin Yovchev and Varna mayor Ivan Portnih regarding the disastrous flooding which hit the Black Sea city, causing at least 10 deaths, according to a statement by the head of state’s office.

Plevneliev expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the disaster and hopes for the speedy recovery of the injured, the President’s office said.

The President was closely monitoring the actions of the relevant institutions to support citizens in view of the further difficult weather condition, his office said.
