Live music from foreign and Bulgarian artists, giant screens to watch World Cup matches and, of course, beer will be among the attractions at the BeerRelation festival being held in Sofia’s South Park from June 12 to 15 2014.
Entrance to the festival is free of charge.
It is to be held from noon until 10pm on the lawn next to Gotse Delchev Boulevard, with the special support of Sofia Municipality as a part of 2019 European Capital of Culture programme, according to a media statement by the organisers, Event Zone.
Serbian folk-rock band Orthodox Celts, Romania’s Popa Sapka, improv actors group HaHaHa Impro, The Smugglers Collective and Latin musicians Mango Duende are part of the event’s programme, fuller details of which are to be announced later.
“At BeerRelation summer art festival, beer will be honoured,” according to the organisers.
“Beautiful tents will welcome representatives of different nations, embassies and world producers, distinguished for their skills and experience in brewing. They will get the visitors acquainted with the traditions of their brands and brief history of beer, as well as offer nutritious food and diverse beer range corresponding to the most demanding taste.”
The Bulgarian Brewers Union will demonstrate some “perhaps forgotten techniques” for making beer.
Apart from the art stage, there will also be a fun zone, where sport activities and games like beer pong, table soccer and many more will be available, Event Zone said.
