Kyiv elects a mayor for the first time since 2008

For the residents of the Ukrainian capital, a lot more was at stake than just the presidency on May 25. Kyiv elected a mayor and the city legislature for the first time since 2008.

According to the exit poll by Savik Shuster Studio political talk show, Vitali Klitschko won 57 per cent of the vote, leaving the runner-up Lesya Orobets far behind with 10 per cent of the vote.
