Poland considers separatist vote in eastern Ukraine illegal – PM Tusk

The Polish government will not recognise the results of the “pseudo-referenda” held in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine on Sunday as they do not comply with “any norms”, Poland’s prime minister Donald Tusk said on May 12 2014.

” I hope that this time, unlikely in the case of Crimea annexation – no one in the world has any doubts that what we deal with is a brutal interfering of one state with internal affairs of another state,” Tusk said.

Poland’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on May 11 that the votes in eastern Ukraine had been organised by illegal armed groups and that they violate international law.
