Modern Art Gallery Sofia holding closing exhibition

The Modern Art Gallery Sofia is holding an exhibition of the most significant art in its collection ahead of the gallery closing on March 1 2014.

“We will be working towards a different art project and opening a new art space,” the gallery said.

“During these four years, we managed to present to the Bulgarian public exhibitions with works by some of the most famous modern and contemporary artists such as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall, Andy Warhol, Sir Peter Blake, Damien Hirst, Marc Quinn and many others.

“We actively supported and promoted Bulgarian art, launching the contemporary art contest “MOST” and presenting the exhibitions of the finalists Antoaneta Galabova, Pavlina Chakarova, Kaliya Kalacheva, Zlatin Orlov, Arslan Ahmedov and Kaloyan Iliev-Kokimoto,” the gallery said.

The exhibition at 10 Oborishte Street continues until February 28. The gallery’s opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
