Macedonia to hold presidential elections on April 13 2014

Presidential elections in Macedonia will be held on April 13 2014.

The decision was signed on February 1 by the speaker of parliament, Trajko Veljanovski.

“The decision on the announcement of the elections will be sent to the State Election Commission, in its capacity as the institution responsible for the elections, and to the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, Veljanovski said.

He said that, based on the Constitution, presidential elections must be held within 60 days from the expiry of the term in office of the current president.
