Poland and EU seek positive solution to Ukrainian crisis

Polish prime minister Donald Tusk spoke to one of the leaders of Ukrainian opposition Arseniy Yatsenyuk by phone and informed him about the steps that the European Union would take towards the Ukrainian crisis, government spokesperson Malgorzata Kidawa-Błońska said on January 26 2014.

Both Tusk and Yatsenyuk said they hoped for a positive solution to the situation, Kidawa-Błońska said.

Under pressure from Russia, Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych refused to sign a key EU association agreement in November, triggering the start of protests against him by pro-EU demonstrators.
