Cameron: Murder in London appears to have been a terrorist attack
British Prime Minister David Cameron says the brutal murder of a man in London Wednesday appears to be a terrorist attack.A man believed to be a serving British soldier was killed in broad daylight near the Royal Artillery Barracks in the Woolwich area of southeast London.Speaking at a press conference in Paris, Mr. Cameron called the attack appalling and said there were strong indications that it is a terrorist incident.Armed police shot and wounded the two suspected attackers.
One broadcaster showed footage of what seemed to be one of the attackers, carrying a blood-covered knife and making threatening statements.
Home Secretary Theresa May chaired a meeting of COBRA, the government’s emergency committee.
A number of weapons were reportedly being used in the attack.
Mr. Cameron said he would cut short his visit to France and return to London.
