Poland to start construction of north-south gas pipeline in 2014

Poland’s state-owned natural gas transmission monopoly Gaz-System plans to start the construction of a 1,000 kilometer north-south gas pipeline in 2014.

The pipeline will connect a new Baltic LNG terminal at Swinoujscie, northern Poland, to its Czech, Slovak and Ukrainian neighbors. The project is expected to cost some PLN 4.5 billion.
