Poland’s LOT to seek Dreamliner compensation from Boeing

Poland’s national airline LOT will seek compensation from Boeing Co. after most of the maker’s flagship 787 Dreamliner passenger jets were grounded due to battery-related problems, LOT’s deputy chief Tomasz Balcerzak told a news conference on Thursday.

The US and European aviation agencies said planes should be grounded while safety checks are carried out on their lithium ion batteries.They are worried that the batteries could leak, corroding vital equipment and potentially causing fires.
