Treasury minister calls for dismissal of CEO of Poland’s troubled flagship airline LOT
Poland’s Treasury Ministry expects ailing state airline PLL LOT’s supervisory board to make the CEO accountable for the current situation, Treasury Minister Mikolaj Budzanowski told reporters on Wednesday after LOT had applied for state aid of PLN 1 billion.
Budzanowski said while the government looked favorably at the request he also said it had come as an unwelcome surprise and that LOT’s board should oust CEO Marcin Pirog, who had previously maintained the company was in good condition.
