Hilton Sofia appoints new general manager

Hilton Sofia said on November 29 that it has appointed Stephan Reiter as general manager, effective at the end of November. Reiter replaces Jacques Brune, who will take over responsibility for the Ankara Hilton hotel.

Reiter (46) has a broad experience in hotel operations, but started his career in the business as a chef, working for various five-star hotels in Switzerland after finishing his apprenticeship. After graduating with a degree in hotel management, he joined Hilton Zurich in 1993 as assistant front office manager.

He has held several positions with Hilton in Abu Dhabi, Dresden and Vienna, where he has managed the Hilton Vienna Danube hotel for the past five years.

Reiter, who speaks German and English, “He is very much looking forward to his new assignment in Sofia and especially keen on the slopes of Vitosha and Rila mountains, as skiing, hiking and cycling are part of his most favourite interests,” Hilton said.
